Heaven High and Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Better yet, how was your Monday? Did you handle it with optimism?
Let’s take a look and how the information in Acting For Real applies in …..’real life’.
Most healthy people are interested in how they appear to the opposite sex. In Acting For Real, we see that there’s no escaping from the role of sexuality in our daily life. Whereas being vulgar and lewd is wrong, there’s nothing wrong with making the best impression with the sexuality we were given by our God. Everybody has a sex for a reason. Men are supposed to act a certain way and women are supposed to act a certain way.
Unfortunately, some people – somewhere along the way – get programmed with behaviors or ‘roles’ that don’t fit their sexuality well or properly. Sometimes people grow up with their sexuality being dampened by others around them. Understanding how to be ‘sexy’ without being vulgar is one of the possible benefits that some people might get from reading this book.
Thom points out that flirting are natural. Flirting is simply the act of letting somebody of the opposite sex know that you’re confident in your role and you appreciate the way they’re playing their role. In actually most people, whether they’re male or female, appreciate feedback that their sexuality is recognized and appreciated……just like you probably do.
But you might be surprised to know that many Hollywood stars weren’t always ‘sexy’. Many of them went through transitions or learning experiences wherein they had to learn how to project their sexuality in various ways. Certainly some of the roles that actors play are a bit more extreme than you or I would play in real life but Thom points out that flirting is just part of being healthy and everybody flirts at one time or the other.
What’s important is that a person learns how to flirt and project sexuality correctly and at the right time and place and in the right way. Men and women who learn how to harness, control and use their sexuality find themselves with a powerful new skill they can use in both personal and business situations.
Being able to design goal directed roles which utilize sexuality is a not only a useful skill but it’s also fun. That’s one of the things Thom teaches in his book, “Acting 4 Real”.
